DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Use of digital displays is limited to University of Iowa campus departments and registered student organizations promoting their events, activities, or services.

Requirements

  • Signs must be submitted via our Digital Signage Request Form.
  • Requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to when a signs needs to be displayed.
  • Please send your slide saved as a jpg. Image dimensions should be 1920×1080 pixels. If you select “All Locations,” please also include a version that measures 1920 x 800 pixels, as some of our libraries have different screen sizes.
  • Event slides can be displayed for a maximum of one week prior to the event and will be removed immediately after the event.
  • Slides regarding UI resources or services will be posted for a maximum of one month, if space allows.
  • The Libraries are not responsible for technical difficulties in the event of an offline system and does not guarantee available slots.

REQUEST AN INFORMATION TABLE AT THE MAIN LIBRARY

To request an information table in the Main Library Learning Commons, please use this form. Requests should follow the policies and procedures outlined in the Administration of Registered Student Organizations.

WEBSITE/EVENTS 

The Libraries promotes its own resources, services, and programs on its website. If the Libraries is partnering with another organization that is hosting an event, it will support promotion of the event on its website through the UI Events Calendar. If the event is not hosted by the Libraries or a direct partnership, the event will not be displayed on the events calendar housed on the Libraries website. Donation drive/collection boxes will only be allowed if the Libraries is sponsoring/co-sponsoring the activity or has an already established relationship with a student group.

HANDOUTS

Flyers or handouts of any kind may only be displayed only on designated bulletin boards in the Main Library. Any handouts found elsewhere will be taken down immediately.

Table tents may be used by Libraries staff only. Unauthorized table tents will be removed immediately.

BULLETIN BOARD PROCEDURES

Print posters, advertisements, or other visual display materials may be affixed only on designated bulletin boards in the Main Library. University of Iowa students and organizations as well as the general public may post signs on these bulletin boards without prior approval, subject to the following:

  • Signs must include the date posted or date of event and may be posted no more than two weeks in advance of an event. Undated and early notices will be removed. Properly posted signs may be removed after two weeks or after the date of an event.
  • No more than one sign for the same item may be posted on a given bulletin board. All other signs will be removed. Signs up to 8.5″ x 11″ are preferred, but signs up to 11″ x 17″ are permitted if space allows.
  • Main Library staff reserves the right to remove flyers when they’re outdated, the bulletin boards become full, or do not follow federal or university policies.
