Comic Book Collection Access and Restrictions: This collection is open for research. Digital Surrogates: Except where indicated, this document describes but does not reproduce the actual text, images and objects which make up this collection. Materials are available only in the Special Collections Department. Scope and Contents
The Floating Comic Book Collection consists of numerous comics acquired by Special Collections at various times and which are not attached to a particular donor or otherwise dedicated collection. Hence, they might be described as "floating". This collection is, in a sense, the equivalent of a general materials collection in a library.
The materials in this collection do not include mini-comics, zines, or similar sorts of amateur or self-published writings. (These can be found in the Floating Zine Collection.) Generally the comics in this particular collection are professionally-produced items (i.e. titles from established publishers such as Marvel or DC).
